Malawi National Football Team Caretaker coach, Patrick Mabedi has promised to bring back the passing Football as he is looking forward to be in charge of the Flames in the TotalEnergies African Cup Of Nations qualifiers against Ethiopia’s Walyas.

Speaking during the press conference in Blantyre on Friday, Mabedi says the “Fast and very fast Football philosophy” was for Marinica and he is determined to implement his own philosophy that he named it as “play and Be Organised”.

The former Kaizer Chiefs interim Coach was part of the sacked underperforming Mario Marian Marinica backroom staff but he said he had no power to change the style of play of the team since Marinica was his boss.

“Every coach has got his own philosophy. An Assistant Coach always adapts the philosophy of his head coach. When you are in the office of the boss, you need to follow he wants you to be doing though you have got other ideas.

“My philosophy is different to Mario’s Philosophy. My philosophy is to play and be organised. Trying to be a team whereby people enjoy the football at the same time we know what tactically and technically we want to do.

“Football is in two transitions. Its either you defend or you attack. You need to manage them both, and you need to be organized in those transitions. My philosophy is about playing, get organised when you lose the ball,” Mabedi described his philosophy.

After failing to rope in Kalisto Pasuwa, Football Association of Malawi settled for the former Flames and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets captain, Mabedi to lead the team in the TotalEnergies African Cup Of Nations qualifiers and Cosafa Cup before the Association appoints the permanent coach.

Mabedi announced that he has appointed Declerk Msakakuona and Eliya Kananji as his first and second assistant coaches respectively.
“It was not easy [to come up with a backroom staff],” said Mabedi. “There are so many good coaches in Malawi but there were certain things that I was always looking into that name this backroom staff.

“The technical team that I choose is related to what I would like to see and implemented in the theory that it will be easier to work with.

“I choose Mr Msakakuona because he has been with Under-17 for quite good time and he produced so many good players like Peter Banda and Francisco Madinga and I would like to work with him so that he can learn more so that as he is growing up, he can help us.

“I consider Eliya [Kananji] because of his performance with Blue Eagles last season. He is the only coach in this country whereby his team did well and his personality is very very important. He knows well the game and he got eyes on the game and that’s why I have gone for him so that we can share some ideas.”

Mabedi has also included Peter Mgangira as the physical trainer Coach, Victor Mphande as the goalkeeper trainer coach, Lawrence Waya as Video analyst, Technical Support Manager is James Sangala and he is going to be assisted by Steve Madeira.

Aubrey Nankhuni who is Chairperson of the National Football Coaches Association has been drafted in as the Technical Advisor while Chancy Gondwe is the Chaplin.
