Universal Industries Limited has donated assorted items worth K850,000 to Nyika Media Club to support its forthcoming Mothers Day Charity Event at Bolero Health Centre in Rumphi District.

The donation is expected to contribute towards the success of the initiative, which seeks to support mothers and promote the welfare of communities around the health facility.

Universal Industries Regional Sales Manager for the North, Kenneth Njiragoma, said the company was committed to supporting initiatives that make a positive difference in society.

“Corporate social responsibility is an important part of our commitment to the communities we serve. We believe that partnering with Nyika Media Club will help support this worthy cause and make a meaningful contribution to the beneficiaries,” said Njiragoma.

He also called on other companies operating in Malawi to extend a helping hand to community-driven initiatives, saying collective efforts from the private sector could go a long way in addressing social challenges.

“We encourage other companies to emulate this gesture by supporting initiatives that directly benefit communities and improve people’s welfare,” he added.

Meanwhile, Nyika Media Club Vice President Clementina Pondelani expressed gratitude to Universal Industries for the donation, describing the support as an important contribution towards the planned charity event.

“We sincerely appreciate Universal Industries for recognising our initiative and coming forward to support us. This gesture will help us in our preparations and strengthen our efforts to make the event meaningful to the intended beneficiaries,” said Pondelani.

She further called for continued collaboration between the media club and the company, saying sustained partnerships with the private sector were essential for community development.

The Mothers Day Charity Event is scheduled to take place at Bolero Health Centre in Rumphi District.
