Malawi Handball team to Attend Zone 6 Games in SA

Malawi Handball National women’s team under 17 and 19 is expected to leave the country on May 21,2023 to attend this year’s zone 6 Tournament.

According to malawian Handball Association General Secretary Denis Fumbani Kumwenda has told The Malawi Guardian online that the preparation are in order as the players are camping in various groups and they will rejoin together for final training on May 11,2023.

“The Under 17 and 19 Handball women’s team is expected to leave the country on May 21, 2023 to attend zone 6 Tournament which will be held in Johannesburg,south Africa.

The team are training in groups and on 11 May 2023 the team will come together for final preparation.”

Kumwenda has also urged malawian to support the team as it is sidelined although the team perform well in different tournaments.

He also says last year Malawi Handball team did well in a similar tournament in Zimbabwe where they managed to come up with a bronze medal.

“I would like to urge malawian to give more support as handball sport is showing that is one of the sport which perform well in different tournaments but when it comes here nothing is done by the public to show and encourage the team as it perform well.”

However Denis Fumbani Kumwenda says malawian should expect that the team will bring another medal and put Malawi on the map by perform well in zone 6 Tournament this year.
