UNDP Boosts DPP’s Digital Drive with ICT Equipment
The Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has received a major digital upgrade through ICT equipment worth $108,000 from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aimed at enhancing its Electronic Case Management System.
During the handover at Capitol Hill, DPP Masauko Chamkakala highlighted the importance of the support in modernising justice delivery.
“We’ve registered about 2,500 cases digitally, but much work remains. This equipment is a crucial step toward full digitisation,” he said.
The equipment includes tablets, all-in-one computers, servers, firewalls, and networking tools Chamkakala said are vital for transitioning from paper-based to electronic operations.

UNDP’s Officer-in-Charge, Nanise Saune-Qaloewai, underscored the organisation’s commitment to justice reforms.
“In today’s digital age, ICT is no longer a luxury but a necessity. For institutions like the DPP, ICT is critical in improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the administration of justice,” she said.
The handover follows a June 2024 request from the DPP for technical assistance to digitise case management and improve decision-making processes.
