Malawi Congress Party(MCP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Lilongwe Msinja South Constituency Francis Belekanyama has on Monday donated an ambulance worth K5 million to Dickson health centre in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Masula in Lilongwe.
In an interview, the law maker said he donated the ambulance to ease mobility challenges for referrals.
“One of my priorities is to ensure people access health services without challenges,” he said.
He added: “The lack of a residential ambulance has led to many preventable deaths as it used to take long to transport patients to the district hospital.
“This donation is a fulfilment of the promise I made during the campaign.”
Dickson Health centre officer-in-charge Lameck Simkoko commended the MP, saying the donation will go a long way in reducing referral load the facility had been facing in the past.

In his remarks, Senior group Dickson thanked the lawmaker for the support and pledged to ensure that the ambulance is used for the intended purposes.
In 2021,Francis who is a son to late Lingson Belekanyama also donated an ambulance to Chiunjiza Health Centre in the Constituency.
