Kasoba to meet Chicago in Phillip Chipanga League

Over the weekend the Phillip Chipanga Banda league reached its climax as they were searching for the teams to reach the final stage.

Chicago FC reached the finals after defeating Hangalawe United at Karonga community ground by two goals to nil while Kasoba FC defeated Nyungwe United 5-4 on penalties after it ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Speaking to the media after witnessing the last semifinal game Phillip Chipanga Banda said that he is excited that the league is coming to an end with so much talent spotted.

“Am a very happy man that we have managed to reach this far that now we are winding up the league and what has impressed me alot is the talent which have been spotted so far which might make it easier for teams like Baka city,Iponga FC even Karonga united to draft some of the players into their system”. He Said

Chipanga continued to say that people should expect a massive grand finale as they will be alot of activities involved.

Karonga District Football Association general secretary Taniel Mwakaghe attributed the success of the league to good officiation.

” First of all let me thank officiation team from karonga they have done quite a reccomendable job hence having a fruitful league and also the oneness which was there between the sponsors, committee and all stakeholders involved.”Said Mwakaghe

Furthermore Mwakaghe Said that third place playoffs will be played on a separate day with the Finals and dates for the final will be communicated in due course.

Over 30 teams joined this tournament from all parts of Karonga and they were divided into clusters before knockout stages.
