Ministry disseminates AGYW SOPs to sector heads
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (AGYW Secretariat) on Wednesday, August 2 2023 disseminated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to head of sectors in Mzuzu.
The event took place at Mzuzu City Council, Civic Chambers with the City Executive Committee and the aim was to disseminate the standard operating procedures, to discuss on adolescent girls and young women coordination at district level.
The objective of standard operating procedures (SOPs) is to provide a detailed process guiding the implementation of AGYW interventions in Malawi.
Speaking during the event, national coordinator Mahala Longwe said the Standard Operating Procedures are multi-sectoral and they guarantee consistency and quality.
“SOPs help newly trained employees by keeping them fresh with the instructions and act as an easily available reference source. It also helps in orienting new staffs and among many others,” explained Longwe.
Users of the SOPs are youth groups such as teen clubs, youth organisations, young people between the ages of 10-24, development partners and youth non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other government ministries, departments and local councils.
Among several other sector heads from various ministries, departments and agencies was the Officer In-charge for Mzuzu Police Station, Donnie Chionda, Assistant Commissioner of Police.
