Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has trashed Silver Strikers Head Coach Pieter De Jongh’s claim that Hassan Kajoke should be suspended until his issue is sorted out.

The Dutchman on Thursday during the pre-match press conference said Football in Malawi is being run unprofessionally saying that FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ striker Hassan Kajoke deserves to be suspended.

De Jongh said it is surprising that the Football governing body is failing to act on the issue and the player is allowed to play for Bullets yet his issue is yet to be sorted out.

De Jongh said he was told by Silver Strikers Board that Kajoke had joined the Club from Bullets and that he would be with them this season.

“Hassan Kajoke signed a contract with Silver Strikers and he was supposed to play for us this season. But in a twist of events, Kajoke is playing for Bullets. Football Association of Malawi are just watching this, is this professional?”
Continuing with his Press Conference, De Jongh, said Hassan Kajoke should not play for Bullets because Silver paid him the signing play and salaries for January and February.
“How is it possible? A player with contract with Silver Strikers scoring for Bullets, is this professional? Do we have fair play there? Am a man 52 years, worked in 12 countries including working with Ronald Koeman [Netherlands Coach].

“The Board told me that we would be having Kajoke this season but am very surprised.”
The Central Bankers announced the arrival of Kajoke from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in January before the player decided to re-sign for his parent Club.

But in an interview with Zodiak’s Sam Banda, Football Association of Malawi Club Licensing and compliance manager, Casper Jangale said Kajoke cannot be banned or suspended from playing football until the truth of the matter is established.

“Kajoke is still a player for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, ” said Jangale. “We don’t have that evidence showing that he left Bullets for Silver Strikers. Players’ status committe will look into it and until the truth is unearthed.

“Mpira Connect, Direct Transfer Matching System are not showing anything about Kajoke’s deal to Silver Strikers, as such, the player still exists in Bullets’ books.

“As of now, there is no any rule barring Bullets from using the player.”

Silver Strikers Lawyers handling the flopped deal has on Thursday submitted documents to FAM showing that the striker signed a contract with the Club and the Association has received the documents.

The Central Bankers are claiming that Kajoke signed a three-year contract with the Club on 4th January, 2023 and they want the player to be banned for being dishonesty.

The submitted documents to Football Association of Malawi (FAM) are showing that Kajoke signed a 3-Year Contract on 4th January, 2023 that expires on 3rd January, 2026.
