Adelaide Migogo has been elected as the new chairperson for National Women’s Football Association at the ongoing Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Sunbird Livingstonia beach in Salima after defeating outgoing chairperson Suzgo Ngwira.
According to the returning officers designated to handle the elections Migogo amassed 13 votes against 5 of her opponent Suzgo Ngwira.
In other positions Tsalakunja Chimanga And Lustica Gondwe went unopposed as Vice Chairperson And General Secretary respectively.Shambashe Kadzamira has defeated Bertha Kawanga as Vice general secretary While Winnie Nyondo is the new treasure after defeating Annie Mseteka with twelve votes to six.
Violet Bunya, Lina Mtegha And Luckson Nyoni have been ushered in as new executive committee members.
In her Acceptance speech Migogo has thanked each And everyone who has put trust in her to lead women’s football in Malawi
“I am profoundly humbled that you have elected me to serve as president of our beloved National Women’s Football Association.This is a shining moment in the life of any aspirant And affirmation of huge trust placed on my humble head.Today, you have given me the greatest honor you can bestow on One woman.From my heart, I say thank you” she writes.
Migogo continued to thank her opponent Suzgo Ngwira for giving her a good run for the show And has called for her support as she was just An opponent in elections And Not An enemy.
Furthermore, Migogo Said that her committee pledges to listen And to do the big things, the big deeds that will put us on the path of irreversible Progress And together we shall build a brighter and More productive women’s football for today, tomorrow And for years to come.
In her Manifesto Migogo centered on seven pillars for opening a new chapter in women’s football And they are Rebranding Women’s football, Inclusiveness,Club development, Technical Development, Growth, Good governance And Success.
