Malawi Paralympics Committee Hopes for More Representation

Malawi Paralympic Committee (MPC) says measures have been put in place to help improve paralympic sports in the country.
MPC Vice president Josephy Galanje has told The Malawi Guardian online that one of the measures that they have put in place is to add more athletes with different disabilities.
“We need to have more athletes who have different disabilities and that why we have four different course like basketball, sitting volleyball and power lifting just mention a few.”
However Josephy Galanje added that they have also started training coaches and some technical staff which will help them to improve Paralympics in Malawi.
“One of the encounging thing is that we could have coaches training other technical officers who will also train teachers in different primary and secondary schools.”
Last year Malawi Paralympic Committee (MPC) called up well wishers to help them with financial support to introduce Paralympics in primary and secondary schools as he says the committee receives less money from the government.
