Mzuzu DFA Conducts Draw for FAM League Quarterfinals

Mzuzu District Football Association on Friday conducted a draw for Quarterfinals at Luwinga Technical Ground.
Speaking after the draw General Secretary for Mzuzu District Football Association Alphack Mkandawire says the league has been very competitive and says they expect to round up games by Mid March.
“We have hope that the league will conclude before Mid March and will be played on a neutral ground with competent referees” said Mkandawire after the draw.
Blessings Phiri of Mighty Kings says they are ready for the knockout stage having finished top of group B.
“We have assembled a good squad we believe we will do better and reach the final and maybe grab it” Phiri said.
“The draw was transparent we are playing against Blue Sport, people from Mzuzu should have hope that Matabwa will rift the trophy” Said Hamza Hassan Team Manager for Matabwa Hammers.
Football Association of Malawi Administrative Officer for Luwinga Technical Centre Charity Mabvumbe urged teams to utilize the FAM’s facility saying it is open for teams.
“Teams can process and type their documents here for free as the head office has allocated equipment for teams to use” said Mabvumbe.
The draw has paired Green Rangers with Geisher United, with Luwazi playing Mighty Kings, Matabwa will battle against Blue Sport while Bwabwa will play against Katoto United.
The champion will pocket K500,000 while the second will go away with K250,000 and the third placed team will pocket K100,000.
The district leagues are sponsored by the Football Association of Malawi to the tune of K2 Million per district.
