As Kumwembe leaves Lions battered….

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers enjoyed yet more success against Red Lions, securing a 3-0 win in Balaka to mark their second success in the tnm Super League.
Christopher Jacama Kumwembe showed why Mark Harrison was quick to spot him as he pillaged three goals at Balaka Stadium and take the Nomads to the very top of the table with six points, two more than the second-placed Silver Strikers who defeated Blue Eagles in Lilongwe through Chimwemwe Idana’s strike.
For last season’s relegation-battling Lions, keeping it tight at the back in the opening stages would certainly have been high on their list of priorities.

After an impressive 2-0 win over Civil Service United, Wanderers were unstoppable again. A quickfire start in East Malawi promised much for the capacity crowd in attendance, with Lions’ goalkeeper Clement Mlombwa invited to makes saves in the early stages of the game.
Jakama Kumwembe created a space for himself before unleashing a thunderbolt that Mlombwa thwarted before Zulu missed the crossbar with just inches.
Unfortunately though, their resistance was broken after 39 minutes. Former Civil Service United striker connected home Wisdom Mpinganjira cross with a looping header leaving hapless goalkeeper hapless.
After the recess, the Blues emerged, desperate to build on their first-half dominance and they deservedly doubled their lead through Kumwembe. He rounded the goalkeeper before placing the ball against the net. He completed his hat-trick later after receiving a cross from Stanley Sanudi.
“We played very well and happy to get this amazing win. The players are suiting well to the play, we are almost 70% to be perfect, I am happy for the progress.

“There were so many opportunities, especially in the first-half. Getting six points in two games, it’s something good though there is a long long way to go. [Kumwembe] is on fire and he just needs to be focused,” said Harrison.
Meanwhile, Mike Kumanga, head coach for the Reds said his side was disjointed and gifted the Nomads the goals.
“We played a departmental football and failed to contain Wanderers. We thought of blocking them from attacking through wings but we made some mistakes that made us to gift them the goals.” Kumanga said.
In Blantyre, Bangwe All Stars and Mighty Waka Waka Tigers shared spoils after a barren stalemate.
Yamikani Mologeni was voted the Man of the match. Tigers now have four points from 2 games while Bangwe have two points.
