Day two of Walter Nyamilandu Manda’s official campaign launch took a heartfelt and humbling turn as he visited some of the most vulnerable communities in Nsanje South West — including the elderly, persons with disabilities, and inmates at Nsanje Prison.

Nyamilandu Manda, who is vying for a parliamentary seat in the 2025 General Elections, described the experience as eye-opening and emotional, highlighting the extreme poverty and neglect many people continue to endure.

“It’s incredible how they survive and make ends meet with meagre resources,” said Nyamilandu Manda. “Life is tough out there. Poverty is biting real hard. It is apparent that people are tired of empty promises, and they are searching for credible leaders to fight for their cause.”

During his tour, Nyamilandu engaged directly with community members, listening to their concerns and needs. He also donated basic supplies to the groups he visited, emphasizing that leadership must be rooted in compassion, not convenience.

“We cannot turn a blind eye to the struggles of our people,” he added. “I’m not here to campaign with words—I’m here to campaign with action.”

The visit is part of his broader campaign approach aimed at promoting inclusive leadership and advocating for policy reforms that prioritize the marginalized.

“Everyone deserves a seat at the table—whether they are elderly, differently abled, or serving time in prison. We must lead with empathy and deliver with integrity.”

As he continues his campaign, Nyamilandu Manda says he will focus on issues such as social protection, access to healthcare, rehabilitation programs for inmates, and improved services for people with disabilities.
