SULOM Disburses MK160 Million to Kickstart 2026/27 FDH Bank Premiership

The (SULOM) has announced the successful disbursement of the first tranche of subvention funds under the sponsorship of , amounting to MK160 million.

In this initial phase, each participating club in the 2026/27 FDH Bank Premiership has received MK10 million, forming part of the total MK20 million allocation per team. The funding is specifically designed to assist clubs with early season preparations, including player welfare, training logistics, travel arrangements, and other key operational needs.

The timely release of these funds reflects SULOM’s continued commitment to strengthening the professional structure of the league. By ensuring that clubs have access to financial resources ahead of the season, the body aims to enhance competitiveness on the pitch while also improving administrative efficiency across all participating teams.

SULOM has further emphasized that structured and predictable financial support is critical in elevating the standards of Malawian football. The initiative is expected to reduce financial strain on clubs and allow them to focus more on performance and long-term development.

The league governing body has since commended FDH Bank for its reliability and dedication to supporting football in Malawi. The bank’s prompt disbursement of sponsorship funds has once again demonstrated its role as a key partner in the growth and sustainability of the domestic league.

The remaining balance of the sponsorship package is expected to be disbursed in subsequent phases as the season progresses.
