Kabambe Launches Rescue Tour, Says Malawians Are Hard Workers Trapped by a Collapsed Economy
UTM President Dr. Dalitso Kabambe has described Malawians as industrious people whose efforts are being suffocated by a collapsed economy, making it difficult for them to achieve economic independence despite their hard work.
Speaking at Ngokwe in Machinga during the launch of his whistle-stop tour in the Eastern Region, Dr. Kabambe said the country’s economic crisis has reached a critical stage and urgently needs resuscitation.
“Malawians are not lazy. They work hard in the fields, in businesses, and in offices — but they have nothing to show for it because the economy is failing them,” said Kabambe. “As someone with vast experience in managing and stabilizing economies, I am ready to lead efforts to rebuild this nation.”
Kabambe, a former Reserve Bank Governor, said his leadership will prioritize sound fiscal management, agricultural transformation, and job creation to reverse the current economic malaise.
Supporting Kabambe’s remarks, UTM Publicity Secretary Felix Njawala told crowds that Kabambe’s entry into active politics is a rescue mission for Malawians.
“He has come to bail out Malawians from deepening poverty, which has worsened due to the poor economic policies of the current administration. People have lost hope — but Kabambe brings fresh solutions grounded in expertise and patriotism,” said Njawala.
The tour continues in other parts of Machinga as Kabambe takes his economic revival message directly to the people.
