John Maduka Appointed Head Coach of Magesi FC Ahead of New Season
South Africa’s top-tier side, Magesi Football Club, has officially announced the appointment of Malawian tactician John Maduka as their new head coach for the upcoming 2025/26 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.
In a statement released by the club, Magesi FC expressed excitement about welcoming the experienced coach into their fold.
“Magesi Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of John Maduka as head coach. Welcome to the family!” the club posted.
Maduka brings with him a wealth of experience from the South African football scene, having previously coached Royal AM and Bloemfontein Celtic. His calm demeanor, tactical awareness, and ability to nurture talent have earned him respect across the league.

His arrival is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the team’s competitiveness following their promotion to the PSL and a decent debut campaign. The club will be hoping Maduka’s leadership will inspire a stronger finish in the new season and help build a more consistent team.
Magesi FC was recently home to former Malawi national team defender, Limbikani Mzava, who had a brief stint at the club before departing earlier this year.
Maduka’s appointment is also seen as a proud moment for Malawian football, as he continues to represent the nation on an international coaching stage.
