Former Blantyre City Mayor Wild Ndipo to Contest as Independent MP in September Elections

Former Blantyre City Mayor and current Chigumula Ward Councillor, Wild Ndipo, has announced his candidacy for Member of Parliament for the BCA, Chigumula, Club Banana Constituency in the upcoming general elections scheduled for September 16.
Ndipo cited a strong desire to serve his community and encouragement from local leaders and residents as key motivations behind his decision to run for parliament.
His declaration comes just weeks after losing the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) primary elections to Sumeer Suleman—a process he claims was marred by irregularities and biased in favour of certain candidates.
Speaking on his ambitions, Ndipo expressed confidence in his campaign and pledged to focus on transformative initiatives aimed at uplifting the area and supporting vulnerable groups, including youth, women, and men.
“I am committed to empowering women, the vulnerable, and the youth, as well as some of our men, so that together we can build the Malawi we envision in line with the Malawi 2060 agenda,” he said.
