A Partnership of Progress: MALGA Backs Nyika Media Club’s Annual General Assembly
In a commendable show of support and collaboration, the Malawi Local Government Association (MALGA) has donated K500,000 to Nyika Media Club to support the organization of its upcoming Annual General Assembly.
This generous contribution not only demonstrates MALGA’s commitment to media development but also reinforces the growing partnership between the two entities.
Nyika Media Club, a key player in amplifying decentralization and local governance issues, is set to host its Annual General Assembly on May 30, 2025. A major highlight of the event will be the election of a new Vice Chairperson, following the relocation of Alefa Kasongo to Lilongwe.
Speaking on behalf of the club, Sarah Saulos expressed sincere appreciation for MALGA’s timely assistance.
“We view this support as a clear indication of MALGA’s dedication to advancing media development and its confidence in our continued partnership,” she said.
MALGA’s gesture is a strong endorsement of the role media clubs play in championing grassroots development and decentralization efforts. As the umbrella body for local governments, MALGA acknowledges the importance of empowering media organizations that shine a spotlight on community-level progress and challenges.
By supporting this year’s Annual General Assembly, MALGA is reaffirming its commitment to a robust and dynamic media landscape in Malawi. With this backing, Nyika Media Club is well-positioned to further its mission of enhancing local governance through informed journalism.
This collaboration between MALGA and Nyika Media Club stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when organizations with shared values work together towards a common goal: sustainable, inclusive progress.
