Ex MDF Soldier Arrested for Vandalizing Railway line
Police in Nsanje have arrested a 40-year-old ex-army soldier for allegedly vandalising railway lines.
Nsanje Police Spokesperson, Agnes Zalakoma, has identified the suspect as Steven Fole, from Kalumbi Village in the area of Traditional Authority Ndamera in Nsanje.
According to Zalakoma, the suspect was caught red-handed vandalising the Mbango Railway Bridge while in possession of two gas cylinders and a panga knife.
“Police received a tip-off from well-wishers, which led to the arrest of the suspect,” said Zalakoma.
The arrest comes just a few days after police in Nsanje District also arrested Gracious Themwe for allegedly being found in possession of railway materials suspected to have been stolen.
