A Malawi Congress Party [MCP] diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Rodgers Kamphangala, has called upon President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera to explain the whereabouts of maize in ADMARC warehouses at Chilambula and Malangalanga in Lilongwe.

Kamphangala said it is sad to learn that the media personnel accompanied the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture to the two facilities where they found it empty with no-single bag in stock saying this development is very worrisome not only to Malawians but specifically MCP bon afide members.

He said the news is very disappointing coming after government allowed ADMARC markets open for sales of maize at K600 per Kilogram while the truth of the matter is that ADMARC has no maize in stock and if it has maize in the warehouse, it is coming from elsewhere.

The MCP diehard has suspected the maize which ADMARC is selling in some of its markets across the country as coming from warehouses within Malawi as evidenced with the Parliamentary Agriculture committee which found Chilambula and Malangalanga markets full with maize in stock on their first visit.

He reminded President Chakwera that one MCP member Smolet Kachere was caught by police smuggling maize using his 18 trucks to the neighboring Tanzania through Karonga, he admitted this but said there are people who stole the maize and he didn’t disclose them to this day.

Kamphangala has lamented that to this day, all the culprits behind smuggling maize to Tanzania for sale are scot-free and they are untouchables, they cannot be arrested or prosecuted in court because they are MCP loyalists.

”Some people are deliberately destroying you taking advantage that you are quiet Mr. President, rise up and punish them all as they are reducing your chances of bouncing back in 2025,”he said.

He has also condemned in strongest terms possible Minister of Agriculture Sam Dalitso Kawale after being quoted in the media that those that cannot afford to buy a bag of 50 Kilogram maize at K30,000 must wait for October for DoDMA to consider them in free food distribution.

The MCP diehard said he has full respect to Reverend Winston Kawale (retired) with hope and trust that he cannot allow his son Sam Kawale to join a group of senior MCP liars that have no welfare of Malawians at heart but to let his son not to be implicated by things which have benefited others in the MCP.

He has advised Reverend Winston Kawale to sit down with his son not to provoke Malawians who are already in pain and suffering or else he should advise his son to step down as Minister of Agriculture for his reputation and glory not to be destroyed.
