Rastafarians Community To Host Three Days Of Celebrating Africa Liberation

Rastafarian in the country are calling upon all Malawians to join a 3 day gathering camp to be held at Makwasa in Thyolo district as they will be celebrating African Day.
Africans we celebrate the liberation of Africa on 25th May Every year in comemoration of the continent’s liberty and founding of the African Union (AU) in 1963.
The day symbolises Africa’s freedom and it’s resistance to colonialism and economic exploitation.
The Rastafarian celebrate the month of May starting from May 5 1941 when Haile Selassie of Etheopia returned from exile in England and was restored back on the ruling thrown and raised the red code green flag .
Rastafari Jah Vision said on 5th May King Haile Selassie set Africa free, so May is the blessed month to all Africans as it marked the genesis of freedom.
“At this gathering we want to let all Malawians from various religions and believes to know who a Rasta is, what we stand for and what are our pillars .We are also glad that during this gathering Traditional Authority Kwethemure will be handing in the papers of land ownership to the Rastafarian’s community , we argue all chiefs to eye Rastas as Malawian.
Ras Jah Vision Futher said May is really blessed as Malawi also set free Rastafarian children from school ban in the month.
Meanwhile in a related development on 8 May this year the Zomba High court judge Zione Ntaba ordered Government through the Ministry of Education to allow children with dreadlocks enroll in public schools.
This ended a three year legal battle in which two students sued Government over its denial of children with dreadlocks to promote uniformity in schools.
Ministry of Education in a press release promised to abide by the court’s judgement, a development that has pleased the Rastafarian community.
