Malawi, found in the southern part of Africa and is also known as “The warm heart of Africa.”

It is the warm heart of Afria as the country has peace, nature rich areas which attract tourists and in addition diverse cultures.

For many decades parents have been complaining children are diluting their culture and it’s very difficult for them to preserve it.

But this is not the same in Chinsapo, Lilongwe district, as Chinsapo Art Theater is doing their best to preserve culture.

Chinsapo Art Theater chairperson Blessing Mukatipa says the theater is doing their best by teaching youths importance of preserving culture through art.

Mukatipa says for more than three years they have conducting traditional dances and performing dramas which concentrate on malawian culture.

“We do conduct traditional dances, dramas which focus much in malawian culture.

“For example we teach them how they can dance manganje, ingoma and Vimbudza just to mention a few and on part of drama, it is our role by playing it in our traditional culture,” he said.

He added that they go to rural and urban areas where they perform different arts in malawian culture with an aim to teach the public to preserve culture.

He also says that many youths surrounding Chinsapo area in Lilongwe have now started preserving culture after being taught by Chinsapo Art Theater.
