“MOTO Division One League is Here to Stay”- FAM
The Football Association of Malawi on Saturday launched the Northern Region edition of Moto Division One League at Mudyaka ground at Tukombo in Nkhatabay district.
Speaking after the launch, Football Association of Malawi President Walter Nyamilandu Manda has assured football followers that the governing body will continue sponsoring division one following the pull off of Standard Bank Sponsorship.
“Fam will continue sponsoring the division one league because we believe that this is the players gateway to primier division as well as Super League, there is a lot of potential players from these leagues, so as we are looking for a new sponsors we will continue sponsoring the league under Moto brand.” Manda said.
Manda says he is impressed with the play and believes the league has the potential to unearth hidden talent.
“I’m impressed with the play here I believe the league will unearth good players, we have seen good skill and good heights here, with other cups like FDH, Castel Cup i believe teams have enough competitions so teams will be very busy.” Manda said in an interview.

Super League of Malawi President Fleetwood Haiya concurred with Manda saying Super League teams should send scouts to monitor players in division leagues for their teams.

Simbowe Stars defeated Bafana Bafana 5 -1.
Among other attendees were FAM’s Vice president Justice Jabbar Alide, Innobuild Operations manager Fumbani Chirambo and Northern Region Football Association General Secretary Masiya Nyasulu.
The Northern Region edition follows similar events in Central and Southern Regions.
