HOHO Action Plus Bails Out Families Affected by Freddy in Mangochi

As well wishers and organizations continue to distribute assorted relief items to families affected by cyclone Freddy, Hoho Action plus organisation has become the first organization to assist people in Mangochi district.

Speaking to The Malawi Guardian Online, Hoho Action plus organisation Exercutive Director Noah Suzgo Nhlane says they have done this after conducting an assessment with the Department of Disaster Management (Dodma) and who directed them to deliver the item in mangochi district.

“After assessment of other camps with department of disaster they directed us to deliver the items to Manchochi and we are the first organisation to come here,” Nhlane said.

Nhlane further said they will follow up on the situation in case other well wishers might come with with other assistance. He said if there will be some gaps which need quick intervention though they know that the items which they have delivered are not enough considering the number of households affected.

He however added that they will continue communicating with the Mangochi District Commissioner’s Office (DC) to appreciate the situation of affected people and if they have also been allocated to their normal homes.

The assorted relief which Hoho Action plus have delivered to Mangochi is worth over K10 million and has benefitted 388 households.
