ECOD-Malawi Inspires Choma CDSS Students Through Motivational Talk

The Ebenezer Community Development Organization (ECOD-Malawi) has urged learners at Choma Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) in Mzimba District to remain focused on their education and not allow their backgrounds to limit their ambitions.
Speaking during a motivational session held on Thursday, ECOD-Malawi representative Hannah Tembo encouraged students to believe in their ability to succeed through hard work, determination, and discipline.
“No matter where you come from, you have the potential to succeed in life if you remain committed to your goals. Even the teachers you see today have inspiring stories of how they overcame challenges to attain their education,” said Tembo.
She also challenged Form Four candidates to stay confident and work hard as they prepare for this year’s Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.
Choma CDSS teacher Kondwani Thindwa welcomed the initiative but expressed concern over the increasing number of school dropouts, especially among girls, due to harmful cultural practices.

“We started with 10 girls in Form Four, but only four will sit for the MSCE examinations after six dropped out because of marriage,” Thindwa said.
He appealed to ECOD-Malawi to continue organizing motivational talks, saying they play an important role in improving academic performance and encouraging learners to remain in school.
ECOD-Malawi has been conducting motivational sessions in schools across the country as part of its efforts to inspire young people, promote education, and empower learners to achieve their full potential.
