“USI KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT, THERE ARE THIEVES IN GOVERNMENT!” – Phiri Responds
Political analyst George Phiri has said Malawians should seriously reflect on remarks made by the country’s Vice President, Michael Usi, that there are thieves in government.
Usi made the statement on Monday at Nyambadwe ground in Blantyre, sparking murmurs over how the country has been governed in the past five years.
Speaking to Nkhoma Synod Radio, Phiri said Malawians should believe what Usi said because it could be true.
“Usi is a respectable person, and he knows what he is talking about. I can testify myself that there are indeed thieves in government for, example, where did the fertilizer funds go?” said Phiri.
Phiri further said that in this election season, Malawians have the opportunity to correct things.
Meanwhile, the ruling MCP has criticised Usi for making statements without evidence, saying such remarks have the potential to embarrass others.
