Central Poultry has joined hands with Pacific Limited in a bold move to enhance access to clean and safe water across Malawi through a major borehole rehabilitation initiative.
Speaking during the partnership launch in Blantyre on Wednesday, Central Poultry Chief Executive Officer Nizam Kasmany announced a MK400 million investment in borehole spare parts. These materials will be handed over to Pacific Limited to support its long-running Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project focused on water access.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to improving lives by investing in sustainable water solutions. We believe access to clean water is a basic human right, and we’re proud to be part of this impactful project,” Kasmany said.
The funds will help Pacific Limited in its mission to rehabilitate 250 additional boreholes across the country, providing relief to thousands of Malawians—especially in underserved rural communities.
Since its inception in 2015, the Pacific Limited Borehole Rehabilitation Project has restored more than 7,500 boreholes nationwide. The initiative has been widely applauded for complementing government efforts in the water and sanitation sector.
Faizal Aboo, Team Leader for the Borehole Rehabilitation Project at Pacific Limited, expressed deep appreciation for the support.
“Central Poultry’s contribution will go a long way in reaching more people who have endured years without reliable access to water. This support is a game-changer for our work,” Aboo said.
The Ministry of Finance also weighed in, commending Pacific Limited for playing a critical role in supporting national development goals through public-private partnerships.
With this latest collaboration, both Central Poultry and Pacific Limited reaffirm their commitment to uplifting communities and bridging the water access gap in Malawi.
