By Hosea Banda……..
The management of Awilo Longomba has reviewed that the choose to remain silent on absence of Awilo Longomba to show up at the dinner and dance which was organized by one of malawian musician Francis Phiri also known as Lawi.
One of his managers Mr P has said this last night inside Kumingoli Bash Update which was hosted by Felistus Nya Uyu Ngwira that the managemebt decided to remain silence than releasing a statement to explain why Awilo Longomba has failed to jet in Malawi to perform at the dinner and dance in Lilongwe on 29 April 2023 as they saw people talking much on social media.
“We decided to remain silence because people were talking much on social media and we see that if we can release a statement will not work as the people were so angry with the absence of Awilo Longomba at the dinner and dance.”
Mr P also reviewed that Lawi has never spoken or phened directly with Awilo but he was him who was talking to Lawi on the whole deal.
Another awilo Longomba manager Leo Brown joined the conversation and said Awilo Longomba loves malawian and if he can be invited he can come and perform for free in Malawi.
Both Mr P and Leo Brown said Lawi branched the contract by not sending the money in time which prompted Awilo Longomba not to show up.
They said the only money which they received was a deposit fee which was deposited at year through Awilo Longomba account but they were shocked to hear that this year the money has been sent through Western Union and they have communicated to Western Union to send back the money to Lawi.
As the interview of Awilo Longomba’s managers was still in progress the public was awashed when Lawi tell another media house in the country that Awilo Longomba is yet to communicate to him and tell him the reason behind his absence at the dinner and dance which he organized on 29 April 2023.
On 29 April 2023 Lawi organised a dinner and dance at Bingu International Convention center (BICC ) in Lilongwe where the guest artist was Awilo Longomba but he did not show up and instead one of malawian musician Patience Namadingo volunteer himself to perform at the event.
