Independent Shadow Parliamentarian candidate for Nsanje West, Walter Nyamilandu Manda, on Saturday joined residents of Nsanje South West in a community clean-up exercise, reaffirming his commitment to people-centered development.

Manda, who worked side by side with residents, said the activity was a reminder that meaningful change begins with small but practical steps that directly impact people’s lives.

“Keeping our surroundings clean, safe, and welcoming is everyone’s responsibility. Today, I witnessed how powerful unity can be when people come together with a shared purpose,” he said.

He added that the exercise was more than just about cleanliness but also about building stronger community ties.

“What touched me most was the spirit of care and solidarity. When we unite, we not only transform our environment but also strengthen the bonds that hold us together,” Manda emphasized.

The clean-up exercise drew participation from men, women, and young people across the area, who expressed gratitude for Manda’s involvement, saying it reflects the kind of servant leadership they wish to see in their constituency.

Manda pledged to continue engaging communities through hands-on initiatives that inspire both development and unity.
