UTM’s Vice President for the South Vows to Transform Newly Demarcated Chilomoni, Kabula, Nancholi Constituency

United Transformation Movement (UTM) Vice President for the South, Richard Makondi, has pledged to transform the newly demarcated Chilomoni, Kabula, Nancholi Constituency. Makondi is set to contest as a Member of Parliament in the September 16 general elections under the UTM ticket.
Makondi stated that the constituency has seen minimal development over the years and believes there is a strong call for him to serve the people and provide effective representation. He emphasized the importance of electing a leader who can advocate for the needs of the community.
The businessman-turned-politician made these remarks during a recent interview in Blantyre while meeting party leaders from the Manase area. The meeting aimed to motivate party members to intensify their efforts ahead of the upcoming elections and to officially announce his candidacy.
“I am a unique candidate because of my vast experience in the corporate world. I am capable of collaborating with various institutions to bring support to the constituency, rather than relying solely on government assistance,” said Makondi.
He stressed that, if elected, his primary focus will be on improving the area’s poor road infrastructure and lobbying for the construction of a public secondary school.
“I’m also concerned about the high unemployment levels in our constituency. We need to implement effective mechanisms to address this. UTM has a progressive agenda, including plans for establishing factories and empowering people. I intend to leverage these opportunities to support and uplift the community,” he added.
