Tragic Mzuzu Accident Claims Life of 30-Year-Old Pedestrian

Ntcheu Mbuzi, 30, tragically lost his life after being struck by a motor vehicle on Mzuzu-Nkhatabay M5 road.

Deputy Public Relations Officer Mzuzu Police Station said this happened on October 2, 2024, around 19:00 hours at Luanatonga Area.

Alnod Msiska, 31, from Traditional Authority Kyungu, Karonga, was driving a Toyota Sienta (NE 6771) from Mzuzu to Nkhatabay with passengers. While passing Luanatonga, he hit Ntcheu Mbuzi, who was crossing the road.

Mbuzi sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Mzuzu Central Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Msiska was arrested for causing death by reckless driving and will face charges.

Mzuzu Police urge road users to adhere to safety measures to prevent accidents.

Ntcheu Mbuzi hailed from Changata Village, Traditional Authority Changata, Thyolo District.
