Sunganimoyo under fire for speaking against Chewa divisions

Social commentator Isaiah Emmanuel Sunganimoyo is under fire following his audio clip released on 2nd August 2024 in which he spoke highly of the divisions and confusions rocking the Chewa tribe that they cannot reach to one body for all the Chewas in Malawi.

Sunganimoyo is known for not closing his mouth, he speaks of his mind on issues of politics, culture, and religion and the audio released on 2nd August 2024 did not please some Chewa chiefs one being Group Village Head Sosola of Salima.

GvH Sosola whose real name is Raphael Nowa after listening to the clip, failed to hold his mouth but started insulting Sunganimoyo left and right in obscene language that many are shaking their heads in disbelief at How come a chief like Sosola insulting Sunganimoyo using obscene language.

In a recorded audio CLIP circulating in various social media platforms, Gvh Sosola described Sunganimoyo as a man who is not of Chewa blood and should stop talking about issues affecting the Chewa divisions and confusion claiming that Kalonga Dr. Gawa Undi of Zambia is his relative.

“If this confusion, is this going to your family or your tribe, you must be stupid yourself and not speak anything of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, you cannot defeat me,” said GvH Sosola.

Isaiah Emmanuel Sunganimoyo when contacted said he has no words to say claiming that he has sent the clip of insulting him using obscene language to President Chakwera speaking for himself that he is being taken as an outcast, not a Chewa.

Sunganimoyo has been digging into the Chewa history to find out the reasons that have made the Chewas to be divided into two tribal groupings; Chewa Heritage Foundation (CHEFO) and Bwalo la Chewa Foundation (BOLA-CEFO).

He has for long been lamenting that CHEFO goes to the Eastern Province of Chipata in Zambia for the annual Chewa Kulamba ceremony at the Mkaika headquarters of Paramount Chief Kalonga Dr. Gawa Undi of Zambia, While Bwalo la Chewa holds “ Chizangala cha a Chewa in Malawi.

Bwalo la Chewa Foundation has been arguing about holding of Kulamba ceremonies in Zambia on the claims that Lundu and Undi were from one mother-Nyangu at Mankhamba headquarters, Undi settled in Zambia while Lundu settled in Malawi and there’s no way Gawa Undi be recognized as the Paramount Chief of all the Chews in Malawi.

As the two Chewa tribal groupings are not enough, Paramount Chief Lundu break-away from Bwalo la Chewa for a new tribal grouping “Malawi Chewa Heritage -Chifukwato cha a Chewa” meaning that the Chewas beside of having a population of 15 million people in Malawi have three tribal groupings representing the Chewa people.
