It does not get easier for Mzuzu based Ekwendeni Hammers as they suffer a frustrating 1-0 defeat against Red lions at Balaka Stadium in the Tnm Superleague midweek encounter.

Following the unfortunate defeat on Wednesday afternoon the Hammers remain 13th on the table with 30pts having played 27 games and remaining with 3 to determine their stay in the league, one being against Silver Strikers on November 4 at Bingu Stadium.

Whilst 15th on the table with 28pts and remaining with 2 games to play before the season ends Red Lions still hopes for a miracle to survive relegation, and a win over the Hammers looks to be a step towards that.

Elsewhere Silver Strikers has crushed Chitipa United’s home unbeaten record following a 0-1 victory at Karonga Stadium, the much fought for 3pts now brings the bankers to a maximum of 50 points, 3 points behind the second placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, Both with 3 games left to play.
