Lilongwe Sunni Foundation Chairman Aamir Patel has urged Muslims across Malawi to prioritise helping and feeding the poor and those in need. Patel made the call during Eid-ul-Fitr Mubarak prayers marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan on Saturday in Lilongwe.

Patel emphasised the need for Muslims to pray for Malawi’s prosperity and promote peace, harmony, and unity among all religions and communities. “May Allah grant our leaders wisdom and strength to overcome challenges and make the Warm Heart of Africa an even more ideal country,” he said.

Lilongwe Sunni Foundation Administrator Abdul Rahman Chibisa echoed Patel’s sentiments, highlighting the importance of the holy month of Ramadan. Chibisa said Muslims have an advantage in seeking forgiveness for sins committed and urged all to continue obeying Allah’s laws as part of the lessons learned during the fasting period.

Chibisa added that Ramadan brought Muslims together despite their differences and grudges. Muslims worldwide are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr Mubarak, marking the end of Ramadan.
