Nyamilandu Returns From CAF Tour

Walter Nyamilandu Manda, the former president of the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), has just returned from a successful tour of duty with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Nairobi, Kenya.
He expressed his gratitude on Facebook, thrilled to be back home after fulfilling his CAF assignments.
During the event, the CAF Executive Committee made a groundbreaking decision: Kenya will host the CHAN tournament in February 2025, serving as a precursor to AFCON 2026. The latter will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Nyamilandu highlighted the significant presence of Kenyan President H.E. Dr. William Ruto, who demonstrated unwavering commitment to developing African football.
As a renowned sports administrator, Nyamilandu has had an illustrious career. He served as FAM president for 19 years, leading Malawi’s return to the African Cup of Nations twice.
He’s also an Executive Committee Member of CAF and COSAFA, and previously served on FIFA’s General Council.

Nyamilandu’s experience in football governance is impressive. He’s mediated in Zimbabwe football return talks, helping to restart football in the country after a ban imposed by FIFA.
With his expertise and passion for African football, Nyamilandu continues to play a vital role in shaping the continent’s football landscape.
“We were graced by the presence of the Kenyan State President, H.E Dr. William Ruto, who has displayed an unequivocal commitment to developing African football,” reported Nyamilandu.
