National Repentance Malawi (NRM) has urged intercessors across the country to continue praying for Malawi as it prepares to hold general elections on 16th September 2025.

NRM Country Director, Reverend Dr. Edward Mikwamba, made the call on Friday during a three-day national repentance crusade held at Khave Primary School in Khonjeni, Thyolo.

The crusade attracted various faith leaders, traditional chiefs, and members of the community from the surrounding areas.

In an interview, Reverend Dr. Mikwamba emphasized that Malawi is at a crossroads, calling for God’s intervention to ensure peaceful and credible elections.

“We don’t want political violence in the run-up to the polls. Politicians, chiefs, and all electoral stakeholders should promote messages of peace and unity. We have one Malawi,” he said.

National Repentance Malawi was established in 2012 by Reverend Dr. Edward Mikwamba as a branch of the global movement founded by Pastor Jeffrey Nash Daly, Global President for Global Day of Repentance based in Middletown, California, USA.

To date, the movement has over 7,000 intercessors worldwide. NRM is an interdenominational religious body whose mission is to encourage people across nations to repent from sin and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.
