BLANTYRE — Malawi Vice President Dr Jane Mayemu Ansah met Miss International Africa Yollanda Chimbarami and Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2025 Lyshanda Moyas on Wednesday to explore stronger Malawi-Zimbabwe cooperation through the creative industry.
According to the Office of the Vice President, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of the creative industry and the work being undertaken by the Zimbabwean delegation in the sector.
Chimbarami said their roles as beauty queens had enabled them to establish a strong network across Africa, which they want to use to develop partnerships between Malawi and Zimbabwe.
The discussions also highlighted the growing role of the creative industry and opportunities for greater collaboration between the two countries.
The beauty queens said their work extends beyond beauty pageants, noting that they collaborate closely with the Zimbabwean government and support young girls and boys living with disabilities across the continent.
Ansah welcomed the engagement and commended the two beauty queens for using their platforms to advance positive causes.
She described them as icons and good leaders who serve as role models for young people in their respective countries.
During the meeting, the Zimbabwean delegation also presented Ansah with Zimbabwean national fabric, a gift facilitated by Zimbabwe’s First Lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa.
