MACOKASA Declares December 22 as Annual Kabaza Day
The Malawi Coalition for Kabaza Stakeholders and Association (MACOKASA) has designated December 22 as Kabaza Day, an event that will now be commemorated annually.
Through this initiative, MACOKASA is taking a stand to engage the nation using placards and posters, emphasizing that accidents are never planned. The association is reminding the public that kabaza riders involved in accidents are human beings who deserve the same care, dignity, and treatment as any other patients.

The Minister of State commended Kabaza stakeholders for the successful planning of the day, expressing satisfaction with the initiative.

He pledged his support both in his personal capacity and in his role as a minister. The Minister further revealed plans to meet with the stakeholders soon, with the aim of exploring ways to ensure that each rider can own a motorcycle.

He acknowledged the role motorcycles have played in creating employment opportunities for many youths across the country. However, he also cautioned riders to prioritize safety, stressing that prevention is better than cure and reminding them that taking care of themselves is their own responsibility.
