Political Right Activist Hon. Bon Elias Kalindo says the Local Government Elections (LGE) which was held in Mtiya ward in Zomba has taught lessons to politicians that money does not buy life and making voters to vote for it.

Kalindo said MCP was distributing 25 Kilogram maize flour and K25,000 each to entice the voters to vote for its councilor in addition to buying national Identity Cards thanking the MCP for providing food and cash to the people of Zomba.

He said the elections has sent a strong message to the MCP elections team which was camped at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre and Kuchawe IN in Zomba that gone are the days of taking Malawians for granted.

Speaking through an audio clip circulating in various social media platforms, Kalindo said 25Kgs bags of maize flour distributed to the voters and K25,000s would have changed the current situations in hospitals where patients are being sent back home for no drugs and buying furniture in primary schools for learners.

Kalindo said the strategy of buying national IDs has proved to be a workable force in Mtiyta ward in Zomba claiming that without this strategy, the MCP could have walked out with zero votes saying Malawians are not happy with the way the MCP through President Chakwera is governing the country.

He said out of 505 votes for the winning DPP candidate Maxwell Finias, the MCP through its candidate Humphrey Rabet amazed 455 votes saying this close margin is a clear indication that rigging is possible in the 2025 elections demanding opposition parties to wake-up from a sleep.

The Activist said what has happened in Mtuya ward in Zomba is a litmus test to the MCP to go back to the drawing board that Malawians are angry with it and are hungry for no food besides millions of Kwachas spent on Zomba people for no impact to the MCP.

“Angry people are hungry people, don’t play with the souls of the people, MCP has won in Zomba leaving a legacy of VXs vehicles for ministers, bodyguards and youth parade dressed in MCP t-shirts.” Said Kalindo.

He has asked the opposition DPP and UDF not to celebrate MCP buying national Identity Cards at Gynkana Club in Zomba but to put in mind that rigging is possible, ghost voters are the ones that voted for an MCP candidate for Mtiya ward.

Kalindo said being the first ever President of the poor people in Malawi, he is very thankful to God the Almighty that poor people of Mtiya ward in Zomba have won the elections defeating the elite who used all the government resources to see to it that its candidate emerged the winner, God has won and Satan has failed.
