UTM Party leader Dr. Dalitso Kabambe has declared a bold and radical political shift ahead of the 2025 general elections, vowing that his party will spearhead a new revolution to rescue Malawians from what he termed “dictatorship leadership.”

Speaking at a high-level party strategy meeting, Kabambe said UTM is not merely entering the elections to participate but to take over government decisively. The party plans to field 229 parliamentary candidates and 500 local government aspirants in what Kabambe described as “the biggest political campaign Malawi has ever seen.”

“This is not just an election — it is a turning point. Malawians are tired of the current regime’s incompetence, greed, and corruption,” Kabambe charged. “We are going to win with a landslide. We are going to dismantle the system and restore dignity to our people.”

Kabambe further emphasized that UTM remains open to the idea of alliances but will not compromise its mission for political convenience.

“We might go into an alliance, or we might not. What matters is that we are building a movement rooted in change, and Malawians will rally behind us,” he said.

He added that the suffering Malawians are facing is no longer bearable. “People have no food, no jobs, and no future under this leadership. UTM will end this misery.”

With elections just months away, Kabambe’s remarks mark a significant shift in UTM’s tone — from cooperative political player to a party promising sweeping change.
