Irish Ambassador Kate Brady Presents Credentials to Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera

The newly appointed Ambassador of Ireland to Malawi, Kate Brady, has officially presented her credentials to President Lazarus Chakwera at the State House in Lilongwe. Ambassador Brady, who previously served as Deputy Ambassador in Malawi, will now reside in the country in her new capacity.

During her remarks after the presentation, Ambassador Brady emphasized Ireland’s continued commitment to supporting Malawi in efforts aimed at improving the livelihoods of its citizens through development initiatives. She expressed confidence that the partnership between the two nations would strengthen and lead to positive outcomes for Malawi.

Colleen Zamba, the Secretary to the Government, also highlighted the strong ties between Malawi and Ireland, noting that Malawi benefits significantly from environmental restoration projects facilitated by this partnership. She affirmed that both countries share a common goal of enhancing the well-being of their populations through collaborative efforts.

Ambassador Brady’s arrival comes at a crucial time as Malawi continues to seek international support to address various developmental challenges, including poverty alleviation and environmental sustainability. With the establishment of her office, it is expected that Ireland will play an even more active role in Malawi’s development agenda.
