Group Village headman nabbed for defilement
Mzuzu Police station is keeping in custody Alexander Ngoma 55, for having sexual intercourse with a 14 year old girl of Mawende Primary School.
The suspect was arrested on July 13, 2023 at around 18:20 hours at Mtwalo – Mawende area.
It is reported that, on the said date the victim was sent to give money to Mr Mhango which her mother borrowed at a distance of about 500 meters.
While on the way back she met with the suspect who grabbed and pulled her to the bush and defiled her.
Later she informed her mother about the incident who later reported the matter to police.
The victim was referred to the hospital for medical checkup where results confirmed that she was defiled.
The suspect will appear before court soon upon completion of investigations.
Alexander Ngoma who is a group village headman comes from Mboyiso Ngoma village in the area of Traditional Authority Mtwalo in Mzimba district.
