Goshen Trust supports Women football
Prophet Shepherd Bushiri through Goshen Trust has announced a K60 million sponsorship package to Football Association of Malawi (FAM) to support the growth of women football in Malawi at an event which happened at Mpira village on Thursday 29th September 2023.
In the package, K29 million is going to towards the support of the National Women Football Team also known as the Scorchers on their trip to South Africa for their COSAFA Cup, while K10 million will be channelled towards allowances for the girls.

Speaking during the signing ceremony President of Football Association of Malawi Walter Nyamilandu Manda applauded Goshen Trust for the timely gesture.
“Am extremely excited good news it’s something we have never had in women’s football,Its a big boost to our chances of participating in COSAFA Cup as we didn’t have resources but now we are guaranteed that the team will leave on Monday for South Africa.The packages is also adding value to the national women’s league which was on K80 million but now with the addition of K50 million it make K130 which will help us Buy equipments for the teams as you know most teams are sponsored by individuals so we want to buy balls, uniforms for them”. Said Nyamilandu
On his part Prophet Sherped Bushiri Said that he felt sad that the girls are finding it hard to compete.
” I have seen a team that is doing well but it is not be sponsored that’s why I thought it wise not just to help the Scorchers but also women football development so that we have more talent nurtured in the land.” He said.

Adelaide Migogo, President of National Womens Football Association thanked Goshen Trust as they are making her dream come true.
“You know during the campaign I talked about finding more partners to come into women’s football and with this gesture am very excited to see that some of the things that I promised are being fulfilled and I urge well wishers to come and support the girls just like Goshen Trust has done.” She concluded.
