Aspiring MP Empowers Ntcheu Farmers with Solar-Powered Irrigation Machines
In a bid to boost agricultural productivity, farmers’ groups in Chief Phambala’s area in Ntcheu district have received solar-powered irrigation machines worth K2,500,000.
The donation was made by Francis Bingalason, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Ntcheu South, who emphasized the need to invest in irrigation farming to drive sustainable economic growth in Malawi.
During the handover ceremony, Bingalason underscored the role of modern irrigation systems in reducing dependence on rain-fed agriculture and improving food security.
The beneficiary farmer clubs include Kakodwa, Kapeni, Njobvu, Kammwamba, and Matale.
Group Village Headman Faiti commended Bingalason for the timely donation, stating that the equipment will significantly enhance irrigation activities and improve crop yields in the area.
