Home Sweepers sweep Bico to win FCB Under 19 for Mzuzu

Clinical Chibavi Home Sweepers thumped Bico Optical 5-2 to win Mzuzu First Capital Bank Under – 19 final played on Sunday at Chibavi ground in Mzuzu.

Clifford Fota Chisale scored 3 goals with Amos Kaunda hitting back of the net twice while Fortune Chirambo and Norman Kamkwende were on target for BICO Optical.

Ruben Njaliwa coach for Chibavi Home Sweepers says good preparations and tactics paid dividends while saying they will now focus on the regional finals.

“It was a good game we came prepared we had a good plan and good preparations and we will work extra hard so that we can win again at regional finals.” said Njaliwa.

William Momo Sissoko Bico FC Coach said early goals affected their game plan and conceded the defeat saying his goalkeeping and defense was not good on the day.

“We conceded an early goals which disturbed my players, we had poor goal keeping and defense we accept the defeat that’s football.” Sissoko said briefly.

Mzuzu District Youth Football Chairperson Panji Francis Kamanga said the competitiveness of the league made it more fun while commending the team for good discpline.

“The competition was stiff and we always aim to produce a good team capable of qualifying for national finals and we hope Chibavi will do the same as it has been for the past 3 seasons.” Kamanga said.

In a third place game played on Saturday last season champions MK Academy thumped Mseteka Welding 5 – 1 to finish third.

For being champions Chibavi will represent the district at a regional finals expected to take place this weekend.
