Two Million Phillip Chipanga League Launched

There was jovial mood from people of karonga as a two million kwacha league sponsored by Phillip Chipanga Banda was being launched at Karonga Stadium.

The launch was spiced up by parading the trophy And a match between Lupaso FC And Nyungwe rovers which Nyungwe came out victorious by defeating Lupaso 3-2 on penalties after it ended in a stalemate in regulation time.

Speaking to the Media, Amidu Yahaya a representative from chipanga Said that they expect everything to go smooth as they have a good committee to run the league.

“Am very excited that we are here today launching this tournament it is our hope that we will have an exciting tournament since we have deployed a very good committee which is under Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) so we expect a good league And we are asking all participating teams to enjoy it And Not indulge into violence” he said.

Taniel Mwakaghe, General Secretary for Karonga District football committee Said that they are excited with the coming in of this league and they will make sure they run it smoothly.

“Its an exciting news in this difficult economic season for someone to come up with a tournament as huge as this one and as a committe we have already made fixtures for the whole first round round so that teams should prepare well and we are also pleading with spectators and teams to refrain from violence” he concluded.

Nyungwe Rovers pocketed Fifty thousand kwacha while Lupaso got thirty thousand kwacha for being part of the ceremonial match.
