Fairmount Properties Rewards Temwa Chawinga with K3.3 Million Plot

Fairmount Properties Limited has rewarded Malawi Scorchers star Temwa Chawinga with a plot valued at K3.3 million in recognition of her outstanding performance at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

During the presentation ceremony held at Capital Hotel yesterday, Fairmount Properties Limited Managing Director Kenneth Mdala said Chawinga had set a good example through her hard work and commitment to the national team.

Chawinga finished the tournament as one of the leading scorers after netting five goals and providing two assists during Malawi’s historic WAFCON campaign.

Mdala said the company decided to offer her the plot as a token of appreciation for her contribution to the Scorchers and her determination to excel at the continental tournament.

“It wasn’t easy to finish as a top goal scorer in a tournament involving some of the best players from different countries,” said Mdala.

He disclosed that the 15-metre by 30-metre plot is located in Goshen City in Mangochi District and is valued at K3.3 million.

The Scorchers recently received a heroic welcome in Malawi following their historic WAFCON campaign, with First Lady Gertrude Mutharika and politicians from various political parties joining the celebrations.
