LILONGWE DRTSS OFFICER PRAISED FOR OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE

A Lilongwe-based officer from the Directorate of Road Traffic and Safety Services (DRTSS), Wezzie Chinguwo, has earned public praise for her exceptional professionalism, patience, and dedication while attending to clients.

The commendation follows a testimony shared by a client, Chisomo Mhango, who recently visited the DRTSS offices in Lilongwe to renew his driver’s licence. According to Mhango, his experience at the eye testing section stood out due to the remarkable service delivered by Chinguwo.

Mhango explained that despite a queue of several people, all clients were being assisted by a single officer—Chinguwo—who handled the workload with calmness and efficiency.

“She was remarkably polite, consistently smiling, and treated every individual with patience and respect,” Mhango noted.

He further observed that even when some clients struggled to follow simple instructions, Chinguwo remained composed and continued to guide them in a clear and courteous manner.

What impressed Mhango the most was Chinguwo’s consistency, as her level of service did not change even during what appeared to be her lunch break.

“She showed no signs of frustration or fatigue, and her attitude remained positive throughout,” he added.

Mhango said Chinguwo’s conduct created a welcoming environment and made the entire process more pleasant for everyone in the queue.

He described the experience as refreshing and encouraging, highlighting the importance of kindness and professionalism in public service.

Mhango has since called on DRTSS management to recognize Chinguwo’s efforts and encourage similar conduct among other officers, noting that simple acts of respect and kindness go a long way in improving public service delivery.

The praise shines a spotlight on the impact that dedicated civil servants like Wezzie Chinguwo can have in transforming everyday interactions within government institutions.
