FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have once again proven their big-game pedigree, overcoming a spirited Karonga United side 2-1 on Friday night to book their place in the 2025 Airtel Top 8 Cup final at Bingu National Stadium.

Despite facing a determined Karonga outfit, Bullets made their intentions clear early in the match. A well-timed freekick from Peter Banda found Chikumbutso Salima, who rose highest to head home the opener.

Karonga United refused to back down and came into the second half with renewed energy. Their efforts paid off when Robert Luhanga nodded in an equalizer from a Patrick Phiri set-piece, momentarily silencing the Bullets faithful.

But as has been the case in recent seasons, Bullets found a way. A lapse in Karonga’s defense allowed Hassan Kajoke the space he needed, and he made no mistake finishing off a clever pass from Chawanangwa Gumbo to restore the lead.

With the win, Bullets advance to their fifth Airtel Top 8 final, continuing their dominance in the competition. They now await the winner of Saturday’s semi-final clash between Silver Strikers and Civil Service United.

Midfielder Blessing Mpokera walked away with the Man of the Match award after a commanding display in the heart of the park.
