Lytone Mangochi, a Karonga-based rights activist, has publicly stated that President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera holds the answers to the tragic plane crash in Chikangawa Forest that claimed the lives of Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others on June 10, 2024.

Mangochi finds it concerning that President Chakwera has remained silent on the matter, implying that his quietness suggests he may be hiding something.

Mangochi is urging President Chakwera to establish a Commission of Inquiry to investigate the incident, emphasizing that Malawians deserve the truth. He questions why President Chakwera appears unconcerned about the deaths, likening his silence to that of a foreigner.

The activist also criticizes MCP Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda for claiming that President Chakwera loved Dr. Chilima, yet failing to support an inquiry into his death.

Mangochi encourages Malawians to demand answers and participate in peaceful demonstrations on October 24, 2024, to pressure President Chakwera into action.

Regarding the upcoming voter registration starting on October 21, 2024, Mangochi advises Malawians to register in large numbers, emphasizing that no individual, including Mec Chairperson Justice Anabel Mtalimanja, is more important than the nation itself.
